Blackburn Rovers FC sought to reduce rising maintenance and staffing costs while improving security across their stadium and ancillary buildings through a new "open and closed doors" policy. To achieve this, the club chose dormakaba’s DORVISION, a GPRS-based door control system, building on their existing use of dormakaba automatic door technology.

dormakaba installed DORVISION onto twelve existing door sets — incorporating automatic sliding operators (ES 200 and ES 90) and an electro-hydraulic swing operator (ED 200) — and enabled remote opening, closing and locking from a central location (including an offsite retail shop). The dormakaba solution cut man hours tied to manual door control, reduced emergency and routine maintenance visits and associated service costs, and strengthened overall site security.
