A Doppler Relay Case Study

Preview of the Favacard Case Study

How Favacard improved customer loyalty, reduced their default rate and lowered costs by 35% thanks to Doppler Relay

Favacard, the credit card issuer for the Fava shopping mall with 120,000 customers, needed to move customers from paper statements to digital to cut traditional mailing costs, reduce delayed payments, improve tracking and confirmations, speed delivery, and boost customer loyalty. To do this they partnered with Doppler Relay and used Doppler Relay’s SMTP transactional email service to send HTML messages with PDF credit card statements attached.

Doppler Relay implemented a simple SMTP integration to deliver statements; in November 2016 Doppler Relay sent 39,839 emails with a 98.22% deliverability rate, 55.47% open rate (22,099 opens), 36.74% click-through rate and low bounce rates (1.07% hard, 0.71% soft). By moving 40,000 customers to digital statements Favacard saved roughly U$S 80,000 per month (U$S 160,000 over two months) versus U$S 2 per mailed statement, achieved a 34% reduction in logistical costs, and reported improved payment collection and customer loyalty; all communications are SSL-encrypted.
