Cocky Teriyaki, a Seattle-style teriyaki restaurant in Austin, faced the challenge of launching and growing its business during the COVID-19 pandemic with limited foot traffic. DoorDash's solution involved implementing its Self-Delivery and Flexible Fulfillment offerings, allowing the restaurant to use its own drivers for deliveries within an efficient radius while supplementing with Dashers when needed. This partnership resulted in 50% of the restaurant's orders coming from DoorDash, which was twice the volume of other platforms. This success provided the confidence and capital for Cocky Teriyaki to plan multiple new locations, including a virtual kitchen.
