FLIR extends UAS video transmission to 10 km with Doodle Labs

FLIR, a leading manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), faced the challenge of enabling long-distance, high-throughput communication for its drones. They needed a small, lightweight, and power-efficient data link capable of a minimum 3 km range to stream HD video and sensor data, with the flexibility to operate on both ISM and licensed-band frequencies. They partnered with Doodle Labs to find a solution.

Doodle Labs implemented a customized version of their NM-915 broadband radio transceiver to fit inside the UAS chassis. This solution provided a reliable long-range data link, enabling video transmission up to 10 km.
