DroneSeed extends drone comms to 3 miles with Doodle Labs

DroneSeed, a drone company focused on reforestation, needed a reliable, long-range communication system for its fleet. Their drones operate in extreme, remote environments without cell service, requiring a data link capable of at least 3 miles to coordinate swarms and stream LIDAR and HD video. Existing radios were either insufficient in range or too heavy, expensive, and power-hungry for their prosumer drones. They turned to Doodle Labs and its Mesh Rider Radio to solve this challenge.

Doodle Labs provided its Mesh Rider Radio Pro, which was easily integrated and far exceeded the minimum required data rate at the needed distance. This solution gave DroneSeed the reliable, high-throughput mesh networking for its entire fleet. As a result, DroneSeed outfitted all its drones with the radios, enabling their commercial operations of surveying and planting seedlings in deforested areas to combat climate change.
