a customer (name withheld by request) builds a secure 47km ship-to-shore VOIP and video link with Doodle Labs

A customer in the government and defense sector, specifically a coast guard organization, needed a cost-effective and secure wireless maritime link to extend its terrestrial VoIP and real-time video network from shore to a ship at sea up to 47 km away. The challenge was to find a system that supported both low-latency voice and high-bandwidth video, as alternatives like satellite were too costly and high-latency, while legacy VHF/UHF equipment lacked the necessary data capacity.

Doodle Labs implemented its 4.7 GHz Mesh Rider Radio solution, leveraging its PRISM frequency shifting technology, in-band traffic prioritization for voice and video, and AES-256 encryption. The result was a successful on-time and on-budget system that exceeded expectations, providing a secure, long-range link that met all latency and bandwidth requirements for concurrent VoIP and video streaming at the full 47km distance.
