Case Study: Sisense Builds Trust and Better Cross-Team Collaboration with Donut

A Donut Case Study

Preview of the Sisense Case Study

Sisense - Customer Case Study

Sisense, a global business intelligence and analytics company, wanted to help employees build stronger relationships and trust across teams, especially in a fast-moving environment where miscommunication and limited cross-functional interaction could slow collaboration. To address this, the company turned to Donut, a workplace connectivity app designed to help colleagues connect more intentionally.

With Donut, Sisense paired employees who rarely interacted in Slack, creating informal introductions that led to better cross-team understanding and new collaboration opportunities. According to Erin Winkler-McCue, these “donuts” helped her build deeper appreciation for engineering teammates, improve trust, and increase productivity; while no hard metrics were shared, she described Donut as more valuable to company culture than a fancy espresso machine.
