Case Study: NAMI boosts peer-to-peer fundraising with DonorDrive

A DonorDrive Case Study

Preview of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Case Study

How NAMI Became the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Organization of the Year

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) partnered with DonorDrive when the COVID-19 pandemic forced more than 100 planned NAMIWalks events to shift quickly from in-person fundraising to a virtual format. NAMI needed a way to keep supporters engaged, adapt its peer-to-peer program, and maintain fundraising momentum while offering flexible participation options.

With DonorDrive’s peer-to-peer fundraising platform, Salesforce NPSP integration, reporting tools, and communication features, NAMI reinvented its events as NAMIWalks Your Way and launched more tailored, virtual, and hybrid experiences. The approach helped average fundraising per participant rise from $95 to $159, drove $13.1 million raised in 2021, and earned NAMI the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Organization of the Year honor, along with a No. 28 ranking on the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Top 30 list.
