A Domo Case Study
Harmons, a family-owned supermarket chain founded in 1932 with 19 Utah locations and roughly $500M in revenue, faced sudden panic buying and supplier shortages at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. With online orders jumping about 200% and stores calling for extra product, the chain needed to rapidly identify which items to restock and prioritize among its 60K+ SKUs to keep shelves stocked and customers safe.
Using Domo’s real-time dashboards and 15-minute sales tiles, Harmons pulled the top 1,000 items sold in 24 hours, scanned inventory across stores, and prioritized the top 4,000 SKUs for ordering. The data-driven response let teams across operations, sales, finance, IT and marketing act faster, reduce out-of-stock issues by 60%, and quickly adjust orders and margins — all supported by about 750 Domo users companywide.
