Case Study: Environmental Defense Fund achieves interactive visibility of global fisheries to drive sustainability with Domo

Creating healthy and sustainable fisheries worldwide

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is a leading international nonprofit that uses science, economics and law to address major environmental challenges. EDF focused on the urgent problem of global fisheries: many wild fisheries are fully or overexploited, putting nutrition and livelihoods at risk for billions and threatening widespread decline by 2030.

To tackle this, EDF partnered with Domo to develop an interactive data platform (completed Winter 2018–2019) that visualizes the health of fisheries worldwide, allowing users to explore and compare regions and raise visibility for fisheries of all sizes. The tool is designed to mobilize the global movement needed to improve fisheries sustainability, support food security, and protect livelihoods while enabling people and nature to prosper.
