CHKD (Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters), a 206‑bed regional pediatric referral center serving roughly 500,000 children, faced a large backlog of paper medical records, an inefficient Release of Information process, and a need to move away from legacy microfilm. CHKD engaged DOMA Technologies to provide document conversion and scanning services and to deploy the DOMA DX platform for HIPAA‑compliant digital access.

DOMA Technologies implemented on‑site record purging, boxing and manifesting, off‑site preparation, scanning, indexing and quality assurance, and migrated CHKD’s MS IIS and MS SQL systems to an AWS cloud environment. The solution digitized more than 46 million medical‑record pages, freed physical storage across three hospital floors, provided instant secure access to records with little-to-no downtime, and has supported CHKD’s records management for 15+ years.
