Young Heroes Foundation - Customer Case Study

Young Heroes Foundation supports nearly 1,100 children orphaned by AIDS in Swaziland—the country with the world’s highest HIV rate—by providing monthly stipends, HIV testing and medical care, and an education fund. Facing the need to scale special-event fundraising beyond small house parties and an art auction, the organization set an ambitious $100,000 target for its first large-scale fundraiser despite limited local sponsorship and significant logistical challenges.

They staged a 200-mile border-to-border bike-a-thon with eight U.S. riders, using Dojiggy’s pledge platform, a local adventure-travel company for logistics, a focused PR campaign, and separate accounting for event donations (SAP South Africa contributed $5,000). The campaign exceeded expectations: the riders and a concurrent Boston Marathon runner raised just over $102,000, demonstrating that careful planning and the right tools can deliver major fundraising results.
