Lutheran Social Services of Southern California’s Community Care Centers runs annual fundraisers — walk-a-thons, phone-a-thons, dinners and golf tournaments — to support its programs. Facing the limits of manual envelope-based fundraising and a need to reach more participants and raise more per person, the organization sought a more efficient, web-based approach to expand participation and boost donations.
By adopting Dojiggy’s online fundraising platform and combining it with targeted outreach (flyers, emails and volunteer-led promotion), LSS more than doubled participation — 59 online registrants plus about 20 traditional participants — and increased donations per participant. Fundraising jumped from $7,500 the prior year to over $28,000, and with a $2,000 Thrivent sponsorship they achieved their $30,000 goal.
