Fairburn Elementary, a multicultural, economically diverse school in Los Angeles, faced repeated district budget cuts that threatened staff and programs. To protect core services—most urgently their gym teacher and school library—the community formed a fundraising committee alongside the P.T.A. and launched coordinated efforts, including a Dojiggy-powered walk-a-thon, to rally parents, teachers and local partners.

Through a community-driven mix of events, sponsorships and online tools they raised substantial support: a $232,000 general pledge drive, a $70,000 online auction, and an improved walk-a-thon that increased student participation to about one-third of the student body. Using Dojiggy’s pages, reporting, email and credit-card processing plus volunteer coordination, local sponsors and school incentives, they secured the funding needed to keep the library open and retain the gym teacher.
