How Freightos facilitates frictionless global logistics with GCP

Freightos, a Hong Kong-based technology and data analytics company, set out to make global shipping as simple as booking a flight online. To support its high-volume marketplace and rapid growth, it needed a cloud platform that could handle large-scale in-memory processing, speed up delivery cycles, and help geographically distributed teams collaborate more effectively. It worked with vendor DoiT International and Google Cloud services including GKE, App Engine flexible environments, and Google Maps Platform.

DoiT International helped Freightos migrate from a monolithic setup to microservices on Google Kubernetes Engine, alongside Compute Engine, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Datastore, BigQuery, and Apigee. The result was a more automated CI/CD pipeline, easier scaling, more independent development teams, and a more stable platform. Freightos also used DoiT International’s reOptimize platform for monthly cost predictions and ongoing cloud optimization, while BigQuery enabled daily updates to its global container freight index.
