How Discount Bank scaled to handle 200% more traffic with Google Cloud

Discount Bank, one of Israel’s largest banks, needed to modernize and secure its PayBox money-transfer app after acquiring it, while also meeting strict banking regulations and handling rapidly growing traffic. Working with DoiT International, the bank relied on Google Cloud services including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), BigQuery, Compute Engine, and Google Workspace to support secure operations and scalable app delivery.

DoiT International helped Discount Bank implement two-step authentication, SSL, database encryption with Key Management Service, snapshot-based compliance, and a continuous deployment model on GKE. As a result, PayBox gained approval from Israeli banking authorities, scaled to handle peaks of 200% more traffic, and grew from 120,000 users to more than 1.5 million, while maintaining a 4.8/5 Android app rating.
