A Doe-Anderson Case Study

Preview of the Maker’s Mark Case Study

Maker’s Mark turns glass waste into garden soil across 7 Kroger locations with Doe-Anderson

The customer, Maker's Mark, a distillery and the world's largest B Corp, faced the challenge of reducing its glass bottle packaging waste. They needed a solution as traditional recycling methods had led to consumer disillusionment, with much of the recycled material still ending up in landfills. The vendor, Doe-Anderson, was tasked with developing an experiential marketing program to address this.

Doe-Anderson's solution was the Glass to Garden program, which placed portable glass pulverizers in Kroger grocery stores. This allowed consumers to crush bottles into a reusable soil mix for local community gardens. The vendor supported this with a retail campaign and PR efforts across seven store locations. The program successfully engaged the target audience, making them active participants in sustainability and helping Maker's Mark crush its sustainability goals.
