UD Group, a Manchester‑based energy and utilities software provider, built the UD Platform to automate quoting, pricing and contract workflows for brokers and suppliers. They faced a resource‑intensive, compliance‑risky sales process—relying on in‑person visits and phone orders—and needed a way to digitize signatures and get more suppliers to adopt electronic signing.

UD Group solved this by embedding the DocuSign eSignature API into its API‑driven platform and CRM (wrapping the SOAP API into its own SDK), enabling automated quote generation, contract creation, e‑signing and status tracking. The result: faster quote‑to‑sign cycles, improved compliance, wider market adoption (used by the majority of the TPI market and 15 suppliers, including several of the “big six”), and scalable growth as the company expands its team and market reach.
