A DocuSign Case Study
Seattle Opera, founded in 1963 and known for its acclaimed productions and community programs, was hampered by slow, paper-based agreement workflows. Preparing for performances and managing performer, union and parent permission forms often meant mailing contracts internationally and storing unwieldy paper files, a process that could take weeks or months and made retrieval difficult.
By piloting and then rolling out DocuSign eSignature across departments, Seattle Opera reduced contract turnaround from months to minutes, enabled batch sending, and integrated e-signatures with its accounting system. Digital storage and status tracking simplified archiving and review, unions embraced the change, and the company has expanded use to HR and payroll documents—cutting postal trips, error correction time, and overall administrative effort.
