A DocuSign Case Study
A membership-based primary care practice that brands itself a “paperless clinic” faced a slow, error-prone patient intake process: eight-page paper packets that had to be mailed, scanned, and manually re-entered into EMR and billing systems. The manual workflow created illegible or incomplete submissions, high printing and postage costs, and more than eight staff hours of work per new patient, which hurt efficiency and patient satisfaction.
The practice implemented DocuSign for Patients (built with Kryptiq), sending encrypted links so patients can securely complete and sign consent and intake forms on any device; the solution is HIPAA-compliant and integrates with their Centricity and Kryptiq EMR to push PDFs and demographic data directly into charts. As a result, enrollment time dropped 95% to under 30 minutes per patient, 99% of intake data is collected before visits, errors were eliminated, visibility and reporting improved, and the clinic saves over $1.10 per packet while boosting patient satisfaction.
