The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), an 1,800-employee agency managing a $1.25 billion budget, was hampered by paper-based workflows: awarding a highway construction contract could require 300+ pages and 60 wet signatures and take up to 50 days, slowing contracts, onboarding and emergency response.
NDOT piloted and then rolled out DocuSign’s Digital Transaction Management platform with minimal IT support, enabling mobile signing and faster reviews. The agency cut contract processing to about 4.8 days (roughly 10x faster), shortened DBE goal-setting from as long as six months to under two weeks, reopened a washed-out interstate in days, met the state’s online-doc mandate (SB236) and earned the Cashman Good Government Award.
