FSMB Saves Time and Money with DocuSign

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) faced a slow, paper-heavy agreement process: physicians had to print, sign, scan or mail forms, which could take days or weeks, incurred paper and staffing costs, and made audits difficult. With a largely younger physician user base expecting fast, digital workflows, FSMB needed a modern, integrated solution to streamline document completion and reduce overhead.

FSMB expanded its use of DocuSign eSignature and integrated it via API into existing IT platforms, replacing portions of in-house portal technology and enabling an in-app signing experience. Transactions that once took days now complete in minutes, paper use is down about 50%, and overall efficiency and user satisfaction have markedly improved, with FSMB planning further expansion of the solution.
