A DocuSign Case Study
Tidewell Hospice is a large not-for-profit hospice that has provided end-of-life care for 37 years and emphasizes family-centered, high-quality nursing services. Its paper-based in-home admissions process was time-consuming and cumbersome—nurses had to complete lengthy packets, drive them to central admissions, and rely on printing and manual verification, diverting staff time from patient care.
Tidewell deployed DocuSign eSignature for a secure, healthcare-ready digital admissions workflow that could be rolled out quickly. The change cut in-home admission time (visits ≤2 hours rose from 26% to 42%), let nurses complete 5–7 pages in under 15 minutes, eliminated many signature errors, and made documents instantly available to admissions staff. Tidewell now saves about 2,700 pages per month, estimates roughly $120,000 in annual paper and admin savings, and saw completed documents rise from 148 in January to nearly 1,000 on track by April.
