Dilawri Group of Companies, Canada’s largest automotive dealer group with 75 franchises across five regions representing 32 manufacturers, had already begun a digital initiative called Dilawri Anywhere. When COVID‑19 shut down in‑person appointments, the company urgently needed a way to execute bills of sale, work orders and lease agreements remotely and take payments so dealers could remain open and comply with social‑distancing rules.
Dilawri implemented DocuSign eSignature (chosen for simplicity, security and quick start) and rolled out accounts and training across all dealerships in 30 days, then added DocuSign Payments integrated with Stripe and online ID verification to collect payments at the time of signature. The result: paperless, contact‑free transactions, dealers stayed all or mostly operational during lockdown, and Dilawri is now expanding deeper digital integrations to extend remote commerce across parts and vehicle sales.
