A DocuSign Case Study
Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), Ohio’s third-largest public school system, needed to replace tedious, paper-based, error-prone workflows with a more efficient digital process. Using DocuSign eSignature, the district aimed to improve agreement handling for special education IEPs, HR documents, invoicing, and other administrative tasks.
DocuSign helped CMSD implement automated, trackable workflows and integrated eSignature with systems like Workday, supported by DocuSign Customer Success. The results included more than $700,000 in savings, thousands of staff hours reclaimed, invoice approval time cut from two weeks to three days, and close to 5,000 teacher contract renewals completed in about a week. CMSD also saved over $16,000 in invoicing efficiency gains and printing costs, and earned Gartner recognition for its digitally intelligent workplace.
