Alliant Credit Union, the seventh largest U.S. credit union with over 280,000 members and $7 billion in assets, needed to move from open-end to closed-end lending—a change that required more signatures. With 75% of loans opened remotely, the credit union faced costly overnight shipping or slow mail delays and needed stronger remote signer authentication to avoid lower close rates and poor member experience.
Alliant implemented DocuSign integrated with RSA ID Check and its Symitar core to enable straight‑through processing, automated templates, reminders and knowledge‑based authentication with no extra work for the centralized loan team. The result: nearly $294,000 saved in 11 months, 85% of applicants completing paperwork the same day, overwhelmingly positive member feedback (87% “very easy,” 91% signed in under 10 minutes) and almost 100% remote signer authentication.
