A DocuPhase Case Study
Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a not-for-profit utility serving the largest retail cooperative service area in the world, with field crews traveling for weeks to maintain power to remote villages. AVEC faced slow, error-prone paper trip reports—handwritten forms that had to be duplicated, routed manually across departments, and were hard to access—hindering reimbursements, technician turnaround and timely engineering review. To address this, AVEC selected DocuPhase’s Process Automation and Document Management solution.
DocuPhase implemented its Document Management Core and Process Workflow Automation Core, converting paper trip reports into a custom electronic smart form, adding full-text search, auto-indexing, automated routing and a prioritized work queue. The DocuPhase deployment eliminated duplicate filing, streamlined and automated rule-based processing, and gave executives instant remote access to reports; AVEC reports immediate organization-wide improvements, faster processing and “immeasurable” cost savings from the new system.
