Horizon House Senior Living is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in downtown Seattle serving 400+ residents with a 375-person staff. Rapidly growing paper archives across accounting, resident records, and renovation projects were consuming valuable downtown office space and staff hours—managers spent large amounts of time digging through filing cabinets to find invoices, resident documents, and project records.
Working with SWAT Systems, Horizon House implemented Document Locator and ScanStation, back-scanning two years of accounts payable and digitizing new records on arrival, using AutoPath to enforce consistent resident folder structures and electronic workflows with metadata. The result was immediate staff time savings and faster retrieval, elimination of filing cabinets equal to an entire office, improved project close-outs and billing accuracy, and automated notifications that keep teams informed—enabling the organization to extend paperless efficiencies across other departments.
