A Document Locator Case Study
Whitman College, a top-ranked liberal arts school, faced a bottleneck in its admissions process: thousands of paper application packets were being photocopied and FedEx’d to committee members, causing delays, misplaced files, and slow decision-making that hindered getting offers to students quickly.
Whitman implemented Document Locator (with ScanStation and WebTools) to scan and ingest paper, email, and Common App files, using AutoPath to auto-organize records and electronic workflows/web portals to give committee members immediate, secure access. The result: faster admissions decisions, lower shipping and labor costs, easier Financial Aid audits and record retrieval, and a flexible platform now being leveraged across other campus offices.
