RF-CUNY Implements DocStar ECM to Eliminate Paper Burden, Reduce Costs, Improve Collaboration, and Increase Efficiency

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RF-CUNY) is a private, not-for-profit educational corporation that administers grants and support services for CUNY’s research activities across 24 colleges and roughly 12,000 staff. To cut costs, reduce physical document storage, eliminate bottlenecks, and simplify document retrieval across locations, RF‑CUNY selected DocStar’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution.

DocStar implemented its web-based, scalable ECM—working with RF‑CUNY to import approximately one million legacy documents, integrate via Web Services, and centralize contracts, HR records and grant files. The DocStar deployment improved search and document clarity, enhanced HR security and auditability, eliminated manual scanning in key workflows, freed staff time, reduced paper storage and maintenance costs, and delivered measurable operational efficiency gains across the organization.
