A DocStar Case Study
New Hanover, PA, a rapidly growing municipal government near Philadelphia, was overwhelmed by paper records as new residential and commercial developments flooded the office. On-site storage was at capacity, off-site storage was impractical for frequent public records requests, and staff needed a way to control, access and link records to mapping/GIS data — so the township engaged DocStar and its DocStar ECM solution.
DocStar implemented electronic document imaging and integrated the ECM with the GIS via the ARMADA Portal, enabling parcel-based searches, keyword retrieval and in-house scanning workflows. The result: more than 10 years of minutes and agendas digitized, faster access for code enforcement and accounting, a part-time scanning clerk moved to full-time, cleared file cabinets and postponed the need for a new building — all while improving record security and operational accuracy thanks to DocStar.
