The Tassey Group, a Berlin, New Hampshire-based general managing agent serving 300 independent brokers across New Hampshire, Vermont and parts of Maine and Massachusetts, faced a heavy paper burden and slow application processing that required frequent follow‑up with brokers and long manual searches through files. To gain control of high paper volumes and speed responses, The Tassey Group installed DocStar’s ECM solution.
DocStar (with partner PIF Technologies) scanned signed applications and medical reports into a networked, Windows‑based system with integrated faxing and fast automated search, enabling multiple users to retrieve documents instantly. The DocStar implementation eliminated one clerical position, cut copying from about 40,000 copies a year to almost nothing, shortened search time from minutes to instant responses, and let the agency deliver quotes by fax in 2–3 minutes instead of hours or days, reducing operating expenses and improving customer service.
