Dexter Magnetic Technologies, a precision manufacturer of magnetic assemblies for aerospace, medical, and defense customers, struggled with slow, paper-based quality-control and shipping processes that frequently delayed on-time delivery. To solve this, Dexter implemented DocStar (Epicor ECM) as its document management solution to reduce time lost searching for certifications and packing paperwork.

DocStar was deployed in August 2020 and tightly integrated with Epicor ERP to index and upload ~10,000 documents in weeks, enable PO/order-based retrieval, and assemble large document packages with features like PackageWorks. The DocStar implementation cut document-related QC and packing time from about 10,000 hours to under 3,000 hours annually, helped achieve company-wide on-time delivery improvements with an investment under $50,000, and positioned Dexter to scale operations and accelerate shipping and planning.
