Community High School District #94, a West Chicago high school serving more than 2,100 students and 150 teachers, faced the challenge of quickly retrieving over 40,000 student documents (dating back to 1920) for teachers, the registrar, students and parents. The district relied on DocStar and its DocStar Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution to address slow, labor-intensive paper searches and frequent record requests.

DocStar implemented DocStar ECM to digitize and index records, giving the MIS team and registrar instant, on‑screen access and the ability to PDF and e‑mail documents immediately. The solution made more than 40,000 documents (about 800,000 pages) searchable, cut turnaround for record requests from days to minutes, reduced physical file pulls, and drove wider staff adoption across the district.
