Seddons, a top-200 London law firm, needed to prepare for GDPR while fixing gaps in its software: accidental mis-sent emails, metadata exposure in attachments, and large amounts of “dark data” (scanned PDFs, TIFFs and other image files). To replace an expiring email-checking add-in and add metadata-cleaning and OCR capability, Seddons engaged DocsCorp and evaluated/purchased its cleanDocs and contentCrawler products.

DocsCorp deployed cleanDocs to integrate with Outlook, verify recipients, prompt confirmations and strip metadata from attachments, and contentCrawler to continuously discover, OCR and bulk-process image-based files so they become text-searchable and indexed in Proclaim. After successful pilots Seddons bought both products; the result was stronger email controls, reduced risk of inadvertent data breaches, and improved searchability and indexing of previously unsearchable documents—advancing the firm’s GDPR readiness.
