Case Study: Winckworth Sherwood achieves GDPR-compliant data protection and searchable image files with DocsCorp (cleanDocs & contentCrawler)

A DocsCorp Case Study

Preview of the Winckworth Sherwood Case Study

How UK Top 100 Firm Winckworth Sherwood strengthened data protection for GDPR compliance

Winckworth Sherwood, a UK Top 100 full-service law firm, needed to tighten data protection for GDPR compliance, stop missent emails and hidden metadata leaks, and make image-based files searchable for Data Subject Access Requests. To address these challenges the firm deployed two enterprise solutions from DocsCorp — cleanDocs and contentCrawler — integrated with its NetDocuments document management system.

DocsCorp’s cleanDocs adds recipient checking and metadata cleaning at send-time, dramatically reducing missent email incidents, while DocsCorp’s contentCrawler runs back-end OCR across legacy and new files so previously “dark” documents became searchable by go-live. The combined deployment eliminated the need to OCR on MFDs, saved IT time, made most previously invisible files searchable, and left the firm with far fewer service-desk reports about missent emails, helping Winckworth Sherwood meet GDPR obligations without undermining productivity.
