Case Study: DDR Corp. achieves full-text searchability of legacy and new documents with DocsCorp's contentCrawler

A DocsCorp Case Study

Preview of the DDR Corp. Case Study

DDR Corp Implements ContentCrawler Software from DocsCorp

DDR Corp., a publicly traded real estate company that relies heavily on document-driven workflows, faced a credibility and productivity problem when many image-only files in their OpenText Content Server repository were not OCR’d and therefore not returned in full-text searches. Contributors were also bypassing the existing OCR scan process (via OpenText Enterprise Connect), so attempts at an in-house fix stalled and DDR turned to DocsCorp’s contentCrawler to address the risk to their records management and user trust.

DocsCorp implemented contentCrawler, integrating it with OpenText Content Server in a four-week proof-of-concept and a production roll-out the following month. contentCrawler now automatically discovers and OCRs hundreds of thousands of legacy files and OCRs new documents on ingestion (creating separate versions for audit), runs 24/7 with no staff intervention, and removed a major search gap—reducing time spent searching, increasing confidence in the ECM, and delivering a cost-effective, dual-mode OCR workflow for DDR Corp.
