A Dockwa Case Study
Boston Waterboat Marina, a marina in Boston Harbor, faced a challenge maintaining its "wallet-less" experience for boaters. While its original system of paper reservation cards stored in shoeboxes allowed guests to charge non-dockage purchases, it was inefficient and insecure. They needed a modern solution to manage all boater transactions simply and safely, which led them to the vendor Dockwa.
Using Dockwa, specifically its Boat Charges feature, the marina created digital, reservation-based house accounts. This allowed boaters to seamlessly charge items like ice and electric to their on-file payment method. The Dockwa solution saved the marina countless hours previously spent on paperwork, improved security, and fully modernized the customer experience by enabling truly cashier-less transactions.
