Business School Uses New Website, Intranet, and Social Networking to Foster Better StudentAlumni Collaboration

The Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University needed to replace an aging, monolithic ColdFusion/Microsoft SQL website that mixed public content with internal resources, was difficult to navigate, and limited student–alumni engagement. Marketing and IT wanted an affordable, flexible platform that would let content owners publish directly and support a separate intranet to improve student employment prospects through better alumni collaboration.

Working with a consulting partner, the school implemented the DNN Evoq Content platform and assembled modules including DNNArticle, Active Social, Active Forums, and an Events Calendar to build a streamlined external site and a new intranet called Jconnect. The result is a visually rich, easy-to-navigate site and a community-style alumni portal that has driven positive user feedback, faster development, cost-effective maintenance, quicker staff adoption, and on-schedule delivery.
