ScriptLogic Facilitates Delaware’s State-Wide Transition from Banyan Vines to Windows 2000

The Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI), which manages IT infrastructure for 22 state agencies and nearly 20,000 desktops, needed to move the State of Delaware off Banyan Vines before support ended in 2003. To support this major migration to Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000, DTI turned to DLT Solutions and ScriptLogic to help simplify desktop administration and reduce the burden on network administrators.

DLT Solutions’ ScriptLogic software was deployed statewide to automate tasks such as Outlook profile creation, drive mapping, security policies, and software deployment. The solution helped DNREC migrate nearly 1,000 desktops in just 10 weeks and supported Delaware’s broader “Banyan Free” initiative, while also improving administrator productivity and saving the Delaware Department of Corrections about $142,000 by avoiding a full Windows 2000 hardware conversion.
