IT Staff Uses Active Administrator to Protect and Serve Data in Active Directory

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, which manages thousands of desktops and servers across a large and complex law enforcement environment, needed a better way to handle Group Policy changes and protect Active Directory from accidental deletions or changes. With ScriptLogic’s Active Administrator, the department gained object-level backup and restore, Group Policy management, auditing, and permission tracking, along with the ability to safely edit GPOs offline. The solution gave the IT team faster recovery, “self-healing” capabilities for changed permissions, and greater peace of mind in protecting critical directory objects. While no hard metrics were provided, the department said the software would pay for itself after a single major recovery event.
