Salt Mobile engaged Divio to redesign and simplify their internal CMS ("Salt Cinema") to make it social, multilingual and highly usable for a diverse staff. The challenges included removing the admin/user divide so anyone could create or moderate content, supporting four languages (English, German, French, Italian) with sensible fallbacks, enabling team collaboration, and scaling editing for up to 800 simultaneous users while preserving fast page loads.

Divio implemented a django CMS–based solution with new social and collaboration features (user profiles, SSO via SAP/NTLM, “spaces” for teams), content revisioning via the aldryn-reversion app, and usability extensions (wizard, blueprint, dynamic publish/unpublish bar, faceted search). The result is an intuitive, heavily used UI at Salt Mobile, full language fallback support, and a dramatic performance gain — page load times fell from ~60 seconds in beta to roughly 87 ms — while supporting hundreds of concurrent editors.
