Pepperdine University overhauls 166 classrooms in 6 weeks with Diversified

Pepperdine University, a private research university in Southern California, faced the challenge of rapidly overhauling its classroom technology to support hybrid and distance learning for the Fall 2020 semester amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The university needed a flexible, easy-to-use, and consistent solution across all five of its campuses to facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning. Pepperdine engaged their vendor, Diversified, for installation and integration services to implement this new technology.

Diversified installed new distance learning equipment, including Panasonic PTZ cameras, Shure microphone systems, and PCs, across 166 undergraduate and graduate classrooms. For the graduate rooms, they also provided custom-fabricated portable equipment racks. This solution was deployed under an extremely tight six-week timeline. As a result, Pepperdine University was successfully prepared for its socially distanced semester, achieving its goal of providing a simple and flexible turn-key solution to connect students and professors, with the technology to adapt as needs evolved.
