A Diversified Case Study
NBCUniversal engaged Diversified to design a scalable, virtualized production environment to enable remotely hosted studio operations, beginning with its Telemundo station KBLR in Las Vegas. The challenge was to move away from a traditional TV station design to a more flexible and efficient model, allowing the station's core hardware to be hosted off-site.
Diversified implemented an IP-based, SMPTE 2110-compliant private cloud solution, housing nearly all production equipment in a Dallas data center and connecting it to Las Vegas via a national fiber network. This drastically reduced the local physical footprint, redirected capital into enhanced production capabilities, and established a scalable "core and edge" model. Diversified created a proven, low-latency system that gives NBCUniversal complete control and provides a template for future station upgrades.
