Massachusetts Maritime Academy equips a 5,000-participant EOC with Diversified

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy needed a multi-functional Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that could serve as both a training facility for students and a fully functional command center for managing large-scale emergencies. Their challenge was to create a space capable of seamlessly sharing multiple sources of critical data across numerous displays, including a large video wall, to facilitate coordination between different agencies. To meet this need, they partnered with the vendor Diversified for a solution that included a Crestron NVX system.

Diversified implemented a comprehensive solution featuring a Crestron NVX system for flexible signal distribution and a Shure MXA-910 ceiling mic for room audio. The design included under-floor cabling due to facility constraints and centralized control, allowing as few as one or two people to manage the entire system. The result is an EOC that successfully doubles as an academic program and a working command center, capable of mapping everything from hurricanes to drone footage. This optimized space supports robust training exercises and enhances real-world incident management for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
