Legendary Films extends VR transport to 150'-160' with Diversified

Legendary Films collaborated with director Alejandro G. Iñárritu to create a unique virtual reality exhibit, "Carne y Arena," which simulates the experience of crossing the Mexico-United States border. They faced the challenge of creating a fully immersive and technically complex installation, which included enabling guests to freely wander a large 50' x 50' desert space. This required extending the transport distance for the VR equipment to over 150 feet. To bring this vision to life, they turned to Diversified for its systems integration expertise.

Diversified implemented a comprehensive solution that included VR transport, audio systems, motion capture, LED lighting, and show control. The team successfully solved the critical transport extension dilemma and was responsible for consolidating drawings, installation, and servicing the exhibit as it toured internationally. The impactful installation debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and has since been hosted at prestigious venues including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and in Mexico City.
