A Ditto Case Study

Spont increases average monthly revenue per customer by 57%

Spont, a hospitality point-of-sale (POS) software provider in the Netherlands, needed a way to keep menus, orders, inventory, and transactions working reliably in environments where WiFi and internet connectivity were often unstable. Mobile devices, large venues, food trucks, and pop-up shops made the problem even harder, and adding more network hardware was time-consuming and limited where Spont could deploy its product.

Using Ditto’s edge-native mobile database and SDKs, Spont built a peer-to-peer mesh network across iOS and Android devices so data could keep flowing offline and sync automatically when connectivity returned. Ditto helped Spont speed up POS setup to less than a day, reduce internet-related support tickets, and expand into more difficult venues; most notably, Spont reported a 57% increase in average monthly revenue per customer.
