Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site trains nearly 100 maintainers yearly with DiSTI

The Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (WAATS) required a high-standard training solution for maintainers of its UH-72A Lakota helicopters, which must be maintained to stringent FAA safety standards. To meet this challenge, they partnered with DiSTI to implement a Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT).

DiSTI built a VMT consisting of 12 workstations, developed using their VE Studio software tools. This solution provided a virtual environment for soldiers to practice essential maintenance tasks before working on physical aircraft. The trainer, which teaches nearly 100 students annually, was successfully implemented at WAATS and graduated its first class in June 2016, serving as a critical reference for over 150 student pilots and maintainers.
