The U.S. Navy needed to modernize training for its LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cushioned Vehicle) so it could keep pace with upgraded craft systems and support long-term fleet readiness. To reduce cost and risk, the Navy worked with DiSTI as part of UNITECH’s effort to transition outdated legacy training into a more comprehensive desktop-based training program.

DiSTI provided virtual interactive training tools, software engineering, and special program management to build the LCAC command module, operator trainer, and maintenance training courseware. The solution reused about 50% of the original command module content in the earlier trainer and later reused up to 90% of courseware, while adding high-fidelity graphics and reusable software objects. The result was a more realistic training program with significant cost savings, portable simulations, and lower future training costs.
