RRC Robotica Submarina, a Brazilian company specializing in deep-sea exploration and training, needed an enhanced method to train their personnel on maintenance procedures for their fleet of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). To meet this challenge, they contracted the vendor DiSTI to develop a virtual maintenance training system.

DiSTI's professional services team used GL Studio and Replic8 to create the SIMA (Sistema de Manutenção Avançada) application. This solution provided an interactive 3D training platform that emulates the ROV's control interface and components, allowing for cost-effective training during operational downtime. According to the customer, the results included innovation, increased professionalism, a reduction in human error, and decreased maintenance time.
